certified isr instructor

Kristina Richie

ISR Certified Instructor

Your Certified ISR Instructor, Kristina Richie, and her husband Luke have proudly called Mt. Juliet home since 2014. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, they’ve established their roots in Tennessee and have three little redheads: Parker, Preston and Piper. Their happy place is on the water, where they love boating, wake surfing, swimming in the backyard pool, or simply enjoying the peaceful views of Old Hickory Lake from their back porch.

Before diving into the swim instructor life, Kristina had the privilege of being a classroom teacher, as well as a manager of education programs for a symphony orchestra. She earned her Bachelor’s in Education from Miami (Ohio) University, Master’s from the University of Chicago, and began teaching in 2007. Teaching little ones has always been her passion, which is why she is thrilled to embark upon a new career working with children both in and out of the pool.

Kristina’s family started their ISR journey when their oldest child began swim lessons as a toddler. They knew that living on the lake and having a pool in the backyard presented certain risks, and that water safety, swimming skills and the ability to Self-Rescue® were an absolute priority. She is immensely grateful for the life-saving skills and pure joy and love for the water this program has fostered in her children, and looks forward to teaching these incredible skills to little ones in her community.
